New emergency equipment

A mass decontamination unit and mass casualty unit purchased with funds provided by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security are delivered Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009 to the Middletown Regional Airport where they will be stored. Middletown firefighters will staff the units for the Butler County Emergency Management Agency in case of large scale incidents, accidents or natural disasters.

Nasal H1N1 vaccine administered

The Butler County Health Department is administering the first live, attenuated intranasal (LAIV) H1N1 vaccines, a nasal spray, to health care workers aged 49 and younger at Princeton Pike Church of God on Friday, Oct. 16. The department has received 8,300 doses and expects more to come in the next few weeks.

Section 8 aid opened for 5,000

Butler County Metropolitan Housing Authority is distributing 5,000 applications for Section 8 vouchers for housing rent assistance on a first-come, first-serve basis on Saturday, October 3 at New Life Vineyard Church in Hamilton, for the first time in five years. Many people were in line the evening before and by 9:15 am on Saturday, 2,100 numbers had already been given out.
